India hosts approximately 1.1 billion people (compared to China with its 1.3 billion). And the majority of them were not at all born with a silver spoon in their mouth. What's more they all live in a reasonable peace together. Rarely can you see any strikes or manifestations in this country. And it is bound to surprise you. I would like to quote one famous book on that matter: “ India is about six times the size of France but it has almost twenty times the population. Twenty times! Believe me, if there were a billion Frenchmen living in such a crowded space, there would be rivers of blood. Rivers of blood, I'm telling you! And, as everyone knows, we French are the most civilized people in Europe”. And that is so true. People in India are amazingly friendly and open. Even if you happen to arrive to this country alone you will without a doubt end up having many Indian friends by the end of your trip.
Another thing that differentiates Indians from other nations is commitment. Commitment in everything: work, family, religion. People are very diligent and helpful. Eighty percent of people I met there are all things to all people. Probably it's because they live in a completely different environment and surroundings.
It seemed strange at the beginning how for example hotel or restaurant staff could keep calm under pressure. They don't panic, yell or snap at you in case there is a problem. They just do their job. Simple.
To sum up I have changed my mind completely about Indians. You should travel a bit of the world to get to know such easy-going and gregarious people.
