Mission Impossible

Yes, that's my second glass of wine tonight. Don't judge me. Have you ever gone grocery shopping with four toddlers in tow?
All I needed was eggs. Not a lot. Just enough for an omelette. Had to buy a little milk, too, as we were all out. And a few sausages maybe.
Both the neighborhood supermarkets were already closed, - neither of them is ever open past six p.m., - so we had to walk five blocks to a 24/7 convenience store. By the time we got there, the kids were super cranky.
While I was picking out the eggs, my youngest climbed onto the cereal shelf and started opening boxes. All of them. His brother took several cans of tuna and began to roll them around on the floor as if they were toy cars. While I was busy catching my sons, my two daughters decided to have some chocolate. And by “some” I mean five gigantic chocolate bars each. At this point I started yelling. Most children would take notice and try to behave, right? Not mine. They couldn't care less. They took my screaming fit as a signal to run around, dropping foodstuffs left, right and center. Finally, dusted with flour, covered with ketchup, and soaking wet in spilled juice I managed to get them together and leave the store.
Did I pay five times more than intended to compensate for the damage? Yup. Did we at least get the groceries we needed? Nope. Would I like another glass of wine? You bet!
