Everyone loves Leonardo DiCaprio…except all the white males who rule the Academy Awards. Leo can't win to save his life! Maybe they're just jealous of his good looks!
I believe he is going to win eventually. He will have to! DiCaprio is too good of an actor for the Academy to ignore forever. They are going to have to recognize him sooner or later. They're going to have to stop playing Hollywood games and treat him fairly.
Maybe they will not be so hateful to him this season… His new film, ‘The Revenant,' looks promising! He is not going to be waiting for his Oscar award much longer, I think.
I promise, if you will watch his films again, you'll agree with me. Watch ‘The Departed,' for example, or any of the movies he did with director Martin Scorsese. Watch all of them! You are going to see how good he is under that director. You will not be able to stop watching!
Going back to his earlier days, DiCaprio's first Academy Awards nomination was in 1993, for ‘What's Eating Gilbert Grape?' with Johnny Depp. Watch it and you are going to be surprised at how young he was--one of the youngest actors ever nominated!
Of course we all know ‘Titanic.' If you are going to view it again, you will notice he's still incredibly young in that film, too; it was made only a few years after ‘Gilbert Grape.' But even today, he looks younger than he is. I don't think he ages; to me, he still looks like he did back then…20 years from now, his face will have only aged five years.
My favorites films of his are ‘Django Unchained,' ‘The Departed,' and ‘The Great Gatsby.' I will be going to see his latest film, ‘The Revenant,' this week. Well, I will try to watch it in the theater; I am not going to be waiting for it to come out online!
My challenge to you is, if you are not going to be busy this week, watch any of his films before next week. A partial list is below; if you are going to do this, try watching two or three you haven't seen before. You will be glad you did!
By the end of the week, you are going to have a profound respect for this man's talent. You will have decided, like me, that Leo has been robbed by the Academy! And I believe you will have found some new favorite movies! One thing I know for sure – you will not have wasted your time…and in the end, you are going to have an excellent understanding of Leonardo DiCaprio trivia to impress your friends!
