On My Way is a 2013 French comedy-drama film, and I'd say, a road movie starring Catherine Deneuve. Imagine you are a restaurant owner (lobsters are no longer the same quality), you've got a questionable lover and elderly mother. You used to be a Bretagne beauty queen – the fact your mother and the beauty contest organizing committee are annoyingly reminding you. Your daughter lives at the other end of the country with your grandson (what's his name, by the way?). All of you have attachment trauma, your lover left you for a younger one. You got sick and tired of it and you're run out of cigarettes. Screw that! - you say to yourself, get into your car and go to buy cigarettes. Bettie keeps on driving and driving, confessing her life to strangers on the way and unexpectedly strengthening ties with her daughters. Hitting the road, Catherine Deneuve's heroine looks very natural – confused and perplexed. Gradually, she will find in herself for a recovery. This movie is a gentle reminder that life goes on despite anything.
